NJHS is an organization that encourages and recognizes academic achievement while developing other essential characteristics. The ideals of scholarship, service, leadership, and character are important as we prepare future leaders for our global society. 6th, 7th and 8th graders are all invited to participate.

Membership is an honor and commitment. Students will apply for membership and will be admitted after demonstrating the four ideals. Students will be given opportunities to serve their community and engage in activities that will support them in their quest to become members.

We will meet at least once a month throughout the year, offering group, school-based service projects. Students will be required to complete 10 hours of service prior to May. All 10 hours may be earned through school-based projects or a combination of school-based and outside activities. Students must maintain at least a 3 average in all academic AND 3 R standards. 

Applications are available in the counseling office. An informational meeting for all students will be held during both A and B lunches on Monday, November 3, 2025 in Mrs. Solum's Room 108. Applications should be brought to the lunch meeting along with the student's Quarter 1 report card and the $20.00 Fee.
