College & Career Readiness
College and Career Readiness (CCR) Meeting - 8th Grade
During the Spring semester of their 8th grade year, students engage in a CCR (College Career Readiness) meeting. This is an opportunity for 8th grade students and parents to meet with their school counselor to discuss academic pathways that they can explore throughout their high school career and beyond.
Research demonstrates that students do better when parents are involved in their education. The CCR process invites parents into the school to plan and monitor their child's progress toward achieving his or her educational goals.
Topics Discussed
-
Review of student progress (i.e., attendance, grades, strengths/challenges)
-
Course and pathway planning for high school and post-secondary options
-
Introduction to Schoolinks — parents will be shown how to access our new college and career readiness program to track and monitor their student's academic progress
Appointments are available Monday through Thursday and typically last 30 minutes. The student and parents attend the meeting together. The student will need to bring their laptop.
Individual 8th Grade College and Career Readiness meetings will be held during Spring 2026.
To schedule an individual appointment, please use the links below or contact Andrea Sato in the Counseling Office at 435-645-5611 or by email asato@pcschools.us.
