EHMS Back-to-School Night

Hello Timberwolf Families,

We are excited to share some information with you in our virtual back-to-school night. First, each department has created a short video for you to view. This contains basic information about your child’s courses. You can view these videos within the slideshow, using this link. Next, we will host a meet and greet with teachers on the following evenings:

6th grade-Tuesday, August 25 from 5:00-6:00 PM (use this link)

7th grade-Wednesday, August 26 from 5:00-6:00 PM (use this link)

Teachers have provided links to Google Meet virtual conferencing Please open the appropriate grade level meeting schedule document. As a parent, you can drop in to the various meetings between 5-6 PM and meet the teachers and ask questions. Please note that some teachers will be available at specific times because they teach more than one course.

We invite our Latinx families to join us from 6-7 PM on Tuesday for 6th graders and Wednesday for 7th graders.  We will review the teachers slideshow and answer questions. Translation is available. Latinx parents can join using this link:

Communication During School Dismissal

The district is posting frequent updates on COVID-19 on its homepage at pcschools.us, along with important resources from the Utah Department of Health and Summit County Health Department.

 

During this period of at-home learning, email and Canvas will be the primary method of school communication.  Students are expected to check their school email daily. Due to increased email load, please be patient and allow 48 hours for teachers and staff to respond to email.

Parent Electronic Device Orientation video

EHMS students receive a district-owned laptop each year. Parents are required to view the Electronic Device Orientation before the student will receive his or her computer. Parents may watch the orientation from home, or at the school. Directions are shown below:

Logout after finishing the tutorial. Make sure you have reviewed and electronically signed both the Internet Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and the Electronic Device User Agreement (EDUA) during the online registration process. Students may not receive their laptop until all three pieces (Orientation, AUP, and EDUA) have been received and recorded by school officials.

Lunch Payments

Your child may qualify for free or reduced-price meals. Assistance is available to those who qualify. Please bring in a completed application (en español.) Note: Proof of need must be attached to the application before it can be processed.

Online Lunch Account System: PayPAMS (lunch balances roll over each year)

Parent PowerSchool Access

To set up a Parent PowerSchool Account, parents will need their student’s parent access ID and password. (This information is mailed home the first week of September.) Parents can link all of their students to one Parent Account, all you need is the parent access ID and password for each of your students. For instructions, see the Parent Single Sign-On Instruction Sheet.

If you lose, or didn’t receive, your Parent Account set-up instructions, contact the school. For security reasons, we will not give out account information by phone, fax, or email. Logins can be picked up in person or mailed to the home address we have on file. PowerSchool logins are reset every summer to protect your privacy.

With a Parent PowerSchool Account, parents will have access to a special Email Notifications page where they can sign up for automatic progress reports. Because of this exclusive feature, it is highly recommended that parents keep their account ID and password confidential and not share it with their student. Students get their own ID and password when they pick up their laptop.

Parent Canvas Access

Parents can now create their own Canvas account and link to all their PCSD Students. Provided below is a list of information each parent will need to have on hand and links to the instructions on creating the account and linking the students.

Please Note: PCSD Employees wishing to observe their students within PCSD should NOT use their @pcschools.us email address. They should use a personal email address.
