As a parent you also have the ability to track your child’s progress daily through Canvas and at midterm and quarter’s end through Powerschool. We have tutorials on our website to assist parents with accessing both Canvas and Powerschool with much of this information found under the S.B.L. (Standards Based Learning) tab on our website: look for the link “Tech Tools.”

In the absence of in-person parent teacher conferences, we want to reassure you that all Ecker Hill teachers are always available to answer questions or address any concerns that you may have about your child. Please do not hesitate to contact your teachers via email or by phone. Teachers will work with you directly to schedule a virtual meeting if one is needed at any time during the school year.

A Virtual Night at the Museum / Una Noche Virtual en el Museo

Middle level students have unique needs and capabilities and are truly caught in the middle between childhood and adulthood. Students at Ecker Hill hold the key to much of what they know and are able to do. They understand their strengths and can identify the things that are difficult for them. Too often they are the last people consulted in evaluating their own learning.

On March 24th, we are holding ‘A Night at the Museum’ as a way to provide all of our students an opportunity to showcase their work and allow them to discuss their learning. This evening is focused on students and their growth. There are three main purposes for this evening:

  1. Show evidence of student learning;
  2. Provide opportunity for students to reflect on their learning;
  3. Foster and promote responsible, respectful, and productive relationships among school, family and community.

  1. Mostrar las pruebas del aprendizaje de los alumnos;
  2. Brindar la oportunidad a los estudiantes de reflexionar sobre su aprendizaje;

Parent PowerSchool Access

To set up a Parent PowerSchool Account, parents will need their student’s parent access ID and password. (This information is mailed home the first week of September.) Parents can link all of their students to one Parent Account, all you need is the parent access ID and password for each of your students. For instructions, see the Parent Single Sign-On Instruction Sheet.

If you lose, or didn’t receive, your Parent Account set-up instructions, contact the school. For security reasons, we will not give out account information by phone, fax, or email. Logins can be picked up in person or mailed to the home address we have on file. PowerSchool logins are reset every summer to protect your privacy.

With a Parent PowerSchool Account, parents will have access to a special Email Notifications page where they can sign up for automatic progress reports. Because of this exclusive feature, it is highly recommended that parents keep their account ID and password confidential and not share it with their student. Students get their own ID and password when they pick up their laptop.
