National Junior Honor Society At EHMS.

¡La Sociedad Nacional de Honores & Distinción Juvenil llega a Ecker Hill!

NJHS is an organization that encourages and recognizes academic achievement while developing other essential characteristics. The ideals of scholarship, service, leadership, and character are important as we prepare future leaders for our global society. Sixth- and seventh-graders are invited to participate.

Membership is an honor and a commitment. Students will apply for membership and will be admitted after demonstrating the four ideals. Students will be given opportunities to serve their community and engage in activities that will support them in their quest to become members.

We will meet several times throughout the year, offering group service projects, as well as school-based service projects. Students will be required to complete 10 hours of service prior to June. Students must maintain at least a 3.75 GPA. We are setting a high standard in hopes of making membership more meaningful for students. While we understand there are exceptional students with lower GPA’s, we will not make any exceptions for membership in NJHS.

Applications were given to students on Monday, October 30, 2017. Applications are available here and in the counseling office. The NJHS application period ends on Friday, November 17th.

Please don’t hesitate to contact one of us if you have questions or concerns. We look forward to a new year of NJHS!
