National Junior Honor Society

National Junior Honor Society is a group of academic and service minded students. We hold monthly lunch meetings and also meet before/after school once a month for community service projects.
NJHS applications are due November 2nd. Final Quarter One Report cards are available on or before Wednesday, October 31st. Please attach a copy of the report card to the application. Download here, or they may also be picked up in the counselor’s office and the front office at Ecker.

La Sociedad Nacional Juvenil de Distinción y Honor (NJHS, por su sigla en inglés) es un grupo académico compuesto por alumnos orientados al servicio.  Mensualmente, tenemos reuniones de almuerzo y también nos reunimos antes y después de clases una vez al mes acerca de proyectos de servicios dirigidos hacia la comunidad.
Las solicitudes de aplicación para NJHS vencen el 2 de noviembre. Los reportes de las calificaciones del primer trimestre estarán disponibles el miércoles 31 de octubre o posiblemente antes. ¡Por favor adjunte una copia de su reporte de calificaciones a su solicitud!

Life is Your Journey, Travel Drug Free - Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is October 22-26. Awareness and education are the first step to prevention for keeping our kids and community drug free. Lunchtime activities, lessons during Advisory, and prizes for learning skills for being drug free. Ecker Counselors are available to families as a resource for information. See the Counseling webpage.

Theme: Life is Your Journey, Travel Drug Free


Monday: Say goodnight to drugs, wear pajamas today.
Tuesday: Life is a Journey Travel Drug Free- Dress as a world traveler or tourist day
Wednesday: Don’t let drugs derail you from your future: dress as “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Day
Thursday: “Drugs are Trash” dress up using garbage bags.
Friday: Wear Red or Timberwolf Spirit Wear

Lunchtime Activities:
Monday: Valley Behavioral Health/Pin the Tail on the Wolf
Tuesday: Three legged race/Corn Hole
Wednesday: Tug of War/Dizzy Lizzie
Thursday: Tattoos/Drunk Goggles
Friday: Musical chairs/Drug Free Pledge

Science and Engineering Fair Information

  • Date: Feb. 1, 2018 for projects to be previewed
  • Date: Feb. 8, 2018 Showcase (projects that have been selected are judged for the regional fair.)
  • Location: Ecker Hill
  • Time: 1:35-5:30 PM
  • Participants: 6th grade elementary division, 7th grade  secondary division
  • Awards will be given to the top projects. Awards will depend upon the number of participants

This year 6th and 7th grade students will have their projects previewed the week before the Science Showcase. The selected projects will be judged at the Science Showcase for selection to the Regional Fair in Salt Lake City.

All 6th and 7th grade students have attended a school assembly about the Fair. Interested students may continue to share their interest Until October 31, 2018, by filling out this form.

Your child may qualify for free or reduced-price meals. Assistance is available to those who qualify. Please bring in a completed application (en español.) Note: Proof of need must be attached to the application before it can be processed.
