Access Routing

Our school traffic safety committee has completed a child access routing plan Adobe Acrobat and map to help you plan the safest route to and from school for your student. Please read the plan thoroughly. Due to numerous hazards along the route to Ecker Hill International Middle School, this committee does not recommend students walk to school from any neighborhoods other than Powderwood, Crestview, Elk Meadows, Pine Creek, Brook Hollow, Pinebrook Cottages, High Meadows and the homes on Engen Loop. If your student walks from those neighborhoods, please be sure that he or she crosses at the crosswalk in front of the school by the fire station and enters the building at the bus access door.

The EHMS school traffic safety committee follows the laws and guidelines that the Utah Department of Transportation has outlined in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. This committee does not have the authority to change bus routes or bus stops, put in sidewalks, or remove snow from the routes. However, we can make recommendations to the proper agencies.

Attached are the completed recommendations that our committee presented to Summit County, and the sheriff's office. Our committee members are:

  • Greg Proffit, Principal
  • Traci Evans, Assistant Principal
  • Sheri Lee, PTO
  • Brent Chasten, District Transportation Director
  • Ron Bridge, Summit County Sheriff’s Office
  • Austin Turner, Summit County Sheriff's Office

Bus route maps will be available at registration. For more information call the Transportation Department at 435-645-5660.

If you have any further questions regarding the access routes, please call the Ecker Hill office at 435-645-5610.
